Giant Multitouch Screens
I discovered a rather interesting and quite awesome video about a gentleman who figured out how to use the Wiiremote to create a multitouch interface without the need to actually touch the screen.
I think this sort of device is an awesome prototype for a new method of interface interaction. While I feel that items such as the iPhone or tablet computers should still use touch interfaces (they make a lot more sense on that sort of physical object), this sort of interaction, based around mid-air finger movement is much more powerful for dealing with large scale computer display and interactive surfaces. In this way, the film Minority Report could actually show what the future could hold in store with this sort of technology. Well, hopefully not those machines that read your eyeball and personalize ads to you. That’d be rather unpleasant.

If that technology could be applied to gamer softwarez like Halo, obesity in America would drop among teenagers dramaticly. hehe.

I didn’t get the chance to try it myself, but the technology is on its way. I was even inspired to play a little around with my wiimote to see the graphs over bluetooth! Pretty shiny stuff
